KAF
Tokyo, Japan — Japanese artist KAF has started pre-sales of her forthcoming album Fable on Bandcamp. Her fourth full-length, officially out on December 25, marks the beginning of a new era for the artist, and makes KAF one of the first virtual artists from Japan to use the music platform in an effort to connect with listeners all over the world.

Fable thematically explores both “loss” and “gain,” while musically it finds KAF no longer working primarily with producer Iori Kanzaki, who helped shape the sound of her first three albums. Every song features a different producer working with KAF, pushing the artist into new sonic terrain and helping her expand what she’s capable of vocally.
Her new album closes out a particularly prolific and busy year for KAF. She became one of the first virtual artists in Japan to host an arena show, with her January solo concert at Tokyo’s Yoyogi National Gymnasium. Since then, she’s released collaborative songs with a wide variety of artists, released an EP, put on additional solo shows, and performed outside of the first time outside of Japan with a set in Singapore at the end of November.

Debuting in 2018, KAF uses an anime-style avatar to present herself to the world, while creating music centered around her versatile and powerful voice. She’s become one of the most prominent virtual singer’s in Japan, with her original songs and covers earning millions of views. She’s performed at some of the country’s most celebrated venues, including a sold-out night at the historic Nippon Budokan in Tokyo. In March 2023, she released her third full-length album, further showing her artistic growth and ability to capture the complexities of growing up in 21st century Japan.
