Tokyo, Japan \u2014 <\/b>The classic soundtracks of the <\/span>Final Fantasy <\/span><\/i>series undergo a cuddly and club-ready makeover on <\/span>#SQkawaii Sounds – Final Fantasy – <\/span><\/i>which arrives in stores on March 5, 2025. A variety of artists dabbling in the \u201cfuture kawaii bass\u201d sound \u2014\u00a0a maximalist and upbeat dance music mutation on a particularly potent sugar rush \u2014 offer new sonic angles on the songs helping to define the long-running video game franchise.<\/span><\/p>\n

Featuring reworks of 20 <\/span>Final Fantasy <\/span><\/i>favorites originally composed by Japanese musical legends such as Nobuo Uematsu, this edition of <\/span>#SQkawaii Sounds <\/span><\/i>celebrates bubbly dancefloor tunes by turning the dramatic swells of the original into high-energy cuts courtesy of producers such as Takafumi Imamura and picco among others. The resulting remixes bring out new depth to the tracks, while reminding of how creatively inspirational <\/span>Final Fantasy\u2019s <\/span><\/i>music remains.<\/span><\/p>\n

#SQkawaii Sounds – Final Fantasy – <\/span><\/i>features new artwork of characters from across the series fittingly drawn in a kawaii style inside an arcade. It was illustrated by Square Enix character designer Yasuhisa Izumisawa.<\/span><\/p>\n
